Why I created this design

Sometimes inspiration comes from the people we don’t expect.

This design was inspired by my son’s preschool teacher.

A colorful shirt, and the feeling of being a kid again

One day, I saw her wearing a beautiful, colorful shirt. It had so many bright colors that it immediately made me happy.

You know that feeling when you see something colorful and, for just a moment, you feel like a kid again?

That’s how it made me feel.

I kept thinking about those colors — the happiness, the brightness, the feeling of a new day.

Lamentations 3:22–23 — “His mercies are new every morning”

And I started thinking about Lamentations 3:22–23:

“His mercies are new every morning.”

I wanted to capture that feeling in a San Joré design.

Bringing a sunrise into the design

The colors reminded me of a sunrise — of waking up to another day and remembering that God’s mercy is new again.

I don’t think I was able to capture everything I saw in that beautiful shirt, but I was able to bring a little piece of that feeling into the His Mercies Are New Every Morning tee.

Sometimes we don’t realize the little ways we inspire other people.
