The Story Behind SAN JORÉ: Why I Created The Well

Why I created this design

When I was a teenager, I was part of a drama where I played the Samaritan woman.

I was young, and at the time I don’t think I fully understood how deeply that story would stay with me.

Years later, I found myself thinking about her again.

She was someone who was avoided, judged and looked down upon. Someone who probably learned to keep her distance from people because people had already decided who she was.

And then she met Jesus.

He didn’t treat her like everyone else did.

He saw her.

He spoke to her.

He knew her story — and still chose to sit with her.

When I began designing this shirt, I kept imagining that moment: the Samaritan woman at the well, sitting near Jesus, with her defenses finally coming down.

Because sometimes the person everyone else overlooks is the very person Jesus is looking for.

This design is a reminder that your past doesn’t disqualify you from being seen, loved and called by God.

You are not defined by the way people treated you.
You are seen by Jesus.
